I am struggling with using keys at work. I have my own pass key which is an ordinary old fashioned key to open all the internal doors. This is the one I use most. Then there are filing cabinet keys. There are about 4 different lots of these and they are used by all staff rather than for my sole use. I am always having to ask colleagues for help which they don't mind but if there was some device that would help me be independent I would prefer it. I am new to RA so not aware of all the devices out there. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Best wishes from Naomi.

Hi Naomi,
there are such thing as key turner aids (cant remember what they're called exactly) They are chunky plastic things that attach and extend the length and width of the key making it easier to manage. I'm not sure if they would be compatable with filing cabinet keys but they may be. Do you have access to an occupational therapist (ask your rheumy to refer you)...they would be able to help you and suggest appropriate aids that could help you at home and at work. Sorry I'm not much help but hope this is a start.
take care Diane x

CheekeyAre you struggling with any other aspect of work as Access to work may be able to help Rich :) "The difference between 'involvement' and 'commitment' is like an eggs-and-ham breakfast: the chicken was 'involved' - the pig was 'committed'."
